Welcome to the 2016 ASU Summer Intensive Seminar in DC.
Registration is now open for this year’s ASU International Summer Intensive. This seminar features five days of instruction by Mitsugi Saotome Shihan and other ASU senior instructors. This is a rare opportunity for Aikido practitioners of any rank or affiliation to train under one of the few uchi-deshi of O-Sensei. Saotome Shihan will be teaching every day.
This international event is a great opportunity to make friends and train. Hosted by Aikido Shobukan Dojo, this special gasshuku (extended training) will focus on intensive training and the connection to the next generation of Aikido instructors. It is a special opportunity to learn from one of one of the founder’s most prominent students and talented masters of Aikido in the world as well as train with the next generation of instructors.
Training intensively together throughout the week will allow us to forge the bonds of friendship and continue to develop our martial skills. In this way, the caliber of both teacher and student will continue to grow, reinforcing the foundation for our future and the future of Aikido.
“The Art of Peace is the principle of nonresistance. Because it is nonresistant, it is victorious from the beginning. Those with evil intentions or contentious thoughts are instantly vanquished. The Art of Peace is invincible because it contends with nothing.”
– Morihei Ueshiba
