2023 ASU Summer Intensive

Welcome to the 2023 ASU Summer Intensive taking place in Washington, DC!

We are pleased to be able to offer a combination of in-person (outdoor and indoor) classes this year led by Saotome Sensei, Bill Gleason Sensei, George Ledyard Sensei, Chuck Weber Sensei, and other ASU senior instructors.

This is a rare opportunity for Aikido practitioners of any rank or affiliation to train under one of the few living uchi-deshi of O-Sensei.

This international event is a great opportunity to make friends and train. Hosted by Aikido Shobukan Dojo, this special gasshuku (extended training) will focus on intensive training and the connection to the next generation of Aikido instructors.  It is a special opportunity to learn from one of one of the founder’s most prominent students and talented masters of Aikido in the world as well as train with the next generation of instructors.

Training intensively together throughout the weekend will allow us to forge the bonds of friendship and continue to develop our martial skills. In this way, the caliber of both teacher and student will continue to grow, reinforcing the foundation for our future and the future of Aikido.

Please join us for this year’s Summer Intensive from July 1 – 5!

The Art of Peace is the principle of nonresistance. Because it is nonresistant, it is victorious from the beginning. Those with evil intentions or contentious thoughts are instantly vanquished. The Art of Peace is invincible because it contends with nothing.
